Best Boots For Bunions

A girl wearing wellingtons

Let’s face it, boots look cute on girls and hot on guys, but sometimes they can be hard to wear for us unfortunate ones who suffer with painful foot conditions! Not to worry, if you have bunions it’s actually relatively easy to choose a good pair of boots because most styles have a lot of extra room in the toebox compared to regular shoes. In this article I’ll be reviewing my favorite boots for bunion sufferers.

Women’s Styles

It’s no secret that us ladies like to look and feel great. Walking around town everyday wearing clunky orthopedic shoes feels lousy! But luckily, the gorgeous designs listed on this page will turn heads while also allowing our feet to feel comfortable and free! Out of all the styles I’ve tried and reviewed, these are my personal favorites!

Acropedico Liana

Black Acropedico Lianas

I love the Acropedico Lianas! Not only are they totally cute with great arch support and a full-length zip, the special lycra blend material is soft, flexible and light. They’re also vegan so any vegan ladies out there would be crazy to miss out on this one. Available in both black (my personal favorite) and brown, they look awesome with anything.

UGG Classic

Classic UGGs

Who ever said style and comfort don’t mix?! As you probably know, UGG Australia is one of the most popular footwear companies in the world, and fortunately for us, not only are their boots trendy they’re also just about the most forgiving style around when it comes to bunions. Crafted in soft sheepskin they are also plenty wide enough to accomodate painful bumps!

Merrell Captiva Buckle-Down

Merrell Captivas

The Merrell Captiva is a stylish, fashion-forward boot with great features for those of us with bunions. I received a pair of these for Christmas last year and I couldn’t be happier! The midsole is super comfy, the insole is removable, there is a lot of width around the toes and what’s more, I regularly get compliments from friends when I wear them! You really can’t go wrong with these comfortable boots which is why they’re a no-brainer for #1!

Dr. Comfort Ranger

Dr Comfort rangers

Dr. Comfort is a popular orthopedic footwear company, and the Rangers live up to the hype. They go up to a 3E size which means there should be a size for everyone and in any case there is enough room for orthotic inserts. May be a little wide at the heel for some depending on the contours of your feet.

Propet Cliff Walker

Propet Cliff Walkers

The Propet Cliff Walkers are wide, wide, wide (!) which gives us a lot of free space around our toes. Propet are well known for producing top quality orthopedic shoes but you’d never guess these were anything other than regular boots! According to one happy customer they can “wear them out of the box even with arthritis in the bunions”, which is exactly what I’ve come to expect from Propet. Highly recommended!

Wouldn’t it be great if there was a pair of boots made specifically for bunion sufferers? Well, believe it or not, that’s exactly what Hanwag’s Alta Bunions are! This expertly crafted design which allows for extra room around the big toe means you can take your regular size instead of sizing up and having to deal with a poor fit around the rest of the foot.
